High, low, penetrating, short and of a long duration – sound of Bydgoszcz is various.That is possible because of long music tradition and it’s Opera Nova, Pomeranian Concert Hall. Also music district with sounds of Music Academy with it’s buildings, where a world class musicians are being taught. Caterbury scene is also doing pretty well in Bydgoszcz. All of these are having huge influence on a rythm of Bydgoszcz.

 

 

Echo builds a structure of the city and goes beyond perception of hearing. It is bouncing between art nouveau tenement houses and modern villas, heading to water - which creates the system of Bydgoszcz. Sound waves are overlaying, infiltrating and stimulating. Each of them has it’s own frequency that creates character and dynamics.Nowadays perception is mostly used by sight, which is significantly limiting our consciousness of recognition.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aim of the bydgOSSA 205 workshop is not only to analyze public spaces of Bydgoszcz and it’s problems, but also interfering with context of echo as a sound and social effects.

 

BydgOSSA 2015 needs to become a clear sound impuls,  which will have it’s effect on not only public spaces of Bydgoszcz but also it’s inhabitants.
